As title says, I am a GM miner and have not been able to find any rare gems (Fire rubies, blue diamonds, etc). I also cannot find the blacksmith in Ter Mur who has the book you read to allow the mining of regular gems. I was wondering if this was different on Pandora, or if my "young" status was preventing me from finding the gems (and the book).

Currently mining for gems is turned off, I know a lot of players would like to mine them again.....Nigel
I while back it was turned off to create a larger market for the existing ones (which were plentiful at the time), however, the only way to get them in game at this point unless that gets changed with the incoming patch, is from tmaps and mining cart (vet reward item)
I find them in some of the pirates mobs chests as well...Nigel
Yeah, i should have said "Tmaps/SoS chest...Any chest really"
I've found gems on certain monsters - but not on some I used to "farm" to get gems. It certainly makes raising the "imbue" skill difficult and costly with plenty of gems lying around. Thanks for the answers - I'll just have to "work" to get gems lol
