There are more than a couple guides on the Wiki, and I think all the dungeons are on the moongate menu.
As for training........I would suggest you train all you can. You can train almost all magic, and combat skills at Insula.
Say something in guild chat about looking for a suit. I just built a leather one for someone free of charge. I'm thinking I'll start putting them on my vendor.
