General Discussion / Re: Non-PvP Hunting

Quote from: "Konstantine"More risk = more reward.

But running thru Fel you do not have a very good chance to run into a PK. There is only so many PKs.. And even if you do, you can run or die, not a big deal.

I am working on a system to possibly get some of the other PS's by doing other things. Not every PS is dropping off Champions right now.

There are plenty of great PvM spots in Trammel rules to hunt. We have 6 facets. 3 fel, 3 tram.

Thank you for your consideration King, much appreciated.

Some of us really enjoy the treasure hunting aspect of UO but if there's no possibility of getting something good, it takes away the thrill. Even if there was a chance to get low level PS, artifacts, or whatever, that would have me salivating for maps/SOS etc.

While I understand the concept of risk vs. reward, it seems like there's not many rewards left in Tram. I really like the idea of "you choose" but when you take away the rewards from Tram it takes away from that concept. I agree that higher level loot SHOULD be in Fel, I don't have a problem with that. I just think Tram should have the same items, just lower quality. At least give the new guys a chance and finding good gear so we can eventually move on.

I hope that makes sense and thanks for listening.

Quote from: "SirDieAlot"Really what i want to do is Treasure Hunt. It's what i really liked to do in osi. But havent found many maps yet.

Same here but you're not missing much. The good stuff drops off of champions, treasure hunting is an afterthought. I just wish they'd give a CHANCE at getting PS somewhere else besides champions. Right now, it's just a nuisance to treasure hunt really, trying to unload all of your heavy, worthless junk to vendors.

So, is this a for sure thing then? No more SOSs in Tram? I don't understand this at all. I can understand putting better loot in Fel but taking away SOSs completely from Tram is taking away a part of the game that I and others enjoy. Isn't it supposed to be "you choose"?

Please bring them back.  :(

That would suck if they're no longer on Tram. Wouldn't that defeat the whole "you choose" idea?

I hope this is just an error.

Quote from: "Oldhead"Unable to get uocartographer to work at this point with razor. I installed it, added the .map files to the directory. But when I run it I get error messages saying couldn't find the .mul files or facet file. Could use some help on this.

I answered my own previous question, yes you do need the maps.

Did you get yours to work? If you right-click on the map and go to options, you have to redirect to wherever you put those files. I finally got mine working.

However, I have a question for anyone that knows. With Cartographer, it says you need UOAssist to get it to track you, is that true? I might give UOAM a try but only if I can't get Cartographer to work like UOAM did.

It'll take a little getting use to if you haven't played a no-skill-cap shard, but it really is an awsome shard, and xeen and kon and the other staff really do a great job with updates, game economy, etc etc.
When you start playing use the global chat to ask about new player helpers.

Will do, thanks. I got set up last night after fighting with downloads but it seems to be working fine now. I'm trying to figure out which is the best map program to use. I picked up Cartographer but I'm not sure it's tracking me. I read on their website that you have to have UOAssist to get it to do that but I'm not sure, perhaps someone else knows. I might give UOAM a try too.

Guides / Download/Install Problems
July 27, 2011, 10:20:14 PM
I tried using my original disks but they wouldn't patch.

I then tried downloading this download:
http://web.cdn.eamythic.com/us/uo/insta ... 0_15_1.exe

I had nothing but problems with that. I don't know if it's Windows 7 or Explorer but I couldn't get a full download.

I then tried this version:
http://web.cdn.eamythic.com/us/uo/insta ... 0_10_3.exe

I finally got a full download with that one. If you're having problems downloading, give that one a shot.

Quote from: "Konstantine"Ah - before High Seas update when the client only allowed 5 players per account we have a max of 5.

I need to update it to 3 since you can make more characters on each account now.

I always welcome families, or people who play together in the same househould.

Simply type [pm "King Konstantine" in game and I will make you another account :)

Oh it's not a problem, was just wondering (been researching today hehe). I'll probably end up only making two anyway. Thanks!

Quote from: "dg_w"Been using uocartographer, work well

Download he .MAP files from here and just put them in the uocartographer directory ..

http://uogaddict.com/maps.html

Works great ... I believe uoam has not been supported / updated since 2007

I thought it built out the maps automatically? Do we really have to add the maps manually?
