Newcomer to pandora and UO

Hey all!  Glad to join up.
Actually never played UO before and I'm excited to try it out.  
Longtime EQ/WOW player who's dabbled in almost every mmo to date.  They are all missing that "hook" to keep me going.  
Been dying to try this game but finally brought a few friends along with me to give it a go.  

Anyone know where I could find some good newbie guides?  (I'm so green to this I couldn't mine last night, double clicked on pickaxe, then on the starter ore, no go lol)

Excited to dive into  a nice classic game and stop playing all the eyecandy but enjoyment devoid MMO's of late.  Like Rift, bleh I maxed and burnt out on that one in 2 months.  

Well hope to see you all in game.  I'll be the guy accidentally attacking merchants.

There are some excellent guides in the Help & Player Guides section, and UOGuide.com is also a wonderful source of information keeping in mind that we have several custom features and systems that differ from the official servers.  If in doubt, ask in chat!  Welcome to Pandora. ^^
