- Imbue Runes will no longer display extended information about the property they hold.
- Single-click an Imbue Rune and select Info to view an extended property description.

- Optimized output for extended property lists to reduce chance of client crashes.
- Fixed an issue with quests where they break after a restart, this will take effect on the second world save after this patch.
- Fixed an issue with escorts that can cause a server dead-lock.

- Optimized vehicles and improved collision detection, it's not perfect still, but getting close.

- Updated the player single-click menu with some new options and color coding.

- Blessed items held inside blessed containers will no longer be strewn across the backpack upon death.

- Geographical locations will now be publicly visible when the profile is made public.

Hi everyone, sorry for the abrupt warning, but we're moving to a new server at some point in the next 12 hours.
Expect some down-time, but not too much, I'll be working hard on the transfer.
The new server has similar specs to the current one, but we won't be hosted on the same slow network, you should see an average ping of 20ms to all of the US and 100ms for Europe.

Some of you may already be aware, but if you aren't you probably are if you've read this threads' title.

Razor has been updated by Mark to support the latest client, this means that it is still a viable alternative to UOSteam for those of you who prefer it!

Furthermore, Mark has also given Pandora an opportunity to appear on Razors' default distribution shard list, which means that Pandora will show up in the server selection by default when people install it!

With that, I would expect at least a few new faces around these parts, so keep your eyes peeled and greet our guests with the common courtesy that this community is known for!

Many thanks to Mark for his support and continued development of the RunUO server software, without which, our world would not exist.

Long live Pandora, Long live the King :)

- Fixed an issue with overlapping houses on placement.
- Revised Medusa and changed the combat mechanics; she can now turn players to stone as well as pets and will do any of her special attacks faster as she loses health.
- Character name verification on login now uses an input gump with a random name suggestion when detecting duplicate names.
- Imbuable slayers that used White Pearls as a resource will now use Black Pearl or another appropriate resource.
- Fixed an issue that prevented Charybdis from spawning tentacles.
- Added Pyrotechnics crafting.

- Fixed an inherent issue with range checks falling short by a factor of 1.
- Fixed an issue with a specific property that prevents new PvP battles being created.

- Added new imbuable attribute, Accuracy, which allows you to strike for additional damage based on target's weakest armor.
- Removed archery changes for using wrestling when target is too close or you run out of ammo.
- Fixed issue with Evasion and Perception breaking stealth.
- Perception now cancels out Evasion, if you have 10% evasion and a target within range has 50% Perception, you'll have a 40% chance to bee revealed.
- Gargoyles and some monsters now bleed black blood, just because.
- Thrown weapon damage bonus has been increased significantly to match other ranged weapon damage output.
- House welcome notices now have a standard 2 second delay before appearing.
- Vehicle movement has been cleaned up, boats should no longer think you are inside after recalling or gating away.
- Whirlwind Attack should work as expected now.
- Fixed an issue with Ihara Soko ToT turn-in vendor not offering the turn-in menu.
- Targets must be within 3 paces range of the original location they were at when a ranged weapon attacks for it to count as a hit.
- Fixed a small issue with vehicle keys not receiving proper names.
- Added bonus damage to using your fists in combat, the bonus is based on your average tier.

Crafting Kits are available from the Abyssal Merchant in the donation house.

Crafting Kits are bags of crafting tools and resources that will help you with your crafting supplies.
The kits come in 4 levels; Beginner, Amateur, Professional and Expert.
The higher the level, the more resources and tool uses you will receive.

+ Imbuing and Unravelling

- Optimized all crafting systems, updated interfaces and Gumps.
- Imbuing now requires Crystals of Elements (CoE) as a main resource.
- Blank Imbuing/Unravelling Runes have been removed, you only need Rough Stone to craft runes.
- CoE's can be found on any enemy creature in the World.
- CoE drop rates are dependent on the elemental damage types that an enemy creature has.
- Added Transmutation craft to allow other ways to get CoE's.
- Rough Stones drop rate has been reduced.
- Gargoyles can craft Rough Stones from Granite.
- Full item unravelling has been revised, the resource return rate has been increased slightly.
- Some craft systems allow you to unravel an item instantly upon crafting it.

- Talismans that previously counted as clothing will now be counted as a talisman for imbuing.

- Added an actual portable Soul Forge with the correct art ID, not the brazier style, these are 2 separate items.


+ Abyss

- The Abyss awaits you all and will be opening in the near future.
- New monsters, new areas, towns, cities and challenges for those who seek glory or will settle for an honourable death.
- Tiered regions to suit your current game pace, choose to stay in your comfort zone, or venture in to the unknown to attain higher challenges!
- Everything in Abyss is scaled to a Tier range, with a wide variety of separate areas at different Tier ranges to cater to all game styles.
- A new player-run town, Dimitto, the only area safe enough to place a house in Abyss, but requires a minimum average tier rating upon placing.
- Aide the King's Guard and help defend the portals back to Pandora from being overtaken by the Abyssal Legion and used for universal destruction!

Archives / Final Testing Phase

The test server is going to be on-line from now for some final changes before the patch goes live.
It will be subject to constant restarts so don't expect to stay logged in without  a restart for longer than 30 mins or so.

Publish 48 - Hot Patch

- Good Luck Deeds should now apply properly on items.

- Rough stones now drop on any Felucca creature, more if Paragon, Peerless or Champion.

- Imbuing craft max skill increase to 150, which decreases success chance, 100% intensity runes have 70.3% base success. (Ex. +100 Luck = 100% intensity = 70.3% success)
* Chance based on 120.0 imbuing skill.
* You can still receive crafting bonuses from different Soul Forges, we are looking at other ways to allow you to increase your success rate. If you think the chance is too low now, point your cross-hairs at Kon :P

- Soul Anvils now display unravelling craft menu.
- Soul Forges should not say "can't be seen" any more.

- Factions are back. Find the stones in town and join them.
- Faction skill loss disabled.
- Factions re-named to Game Of Thrones houses (because we can)

- Added Currencies to storage types and resource box.

- Renowned creatures will now teleport back to their spawn point if they wander 30+ tiles away.

Publish 47 - Crafting & Imbuing

Here we are at last, after the past week or so of tolerating a semi-working imbuing system, we are happy to finally announce the arrival of the new and unique imbuing rune crafting system.

Imbuing has always been a complex feature, very hard to balance, but after some thorough testing, we believe everything is on-par! (we - myself and the player testers who took part)

With the new system overhaul, comes a few logic changes, but nothing too drastic or confusing.
Of course, such a big change may seem disorientating at first, but it's really easy to begin crafting Imbuing Runes!


First off, just some quick notes on the crafting menus, as this globally affects all crafting systems;

The item crafting menu appearance has been enhanced dramatically;
It now gives you all of the feedback you could possibly need in order to make your crafting decision.
Everything from detailed descriptions about the item to special functions, special requirements (recipes, heat, forge, etc) and extended skills and resources information.

Everything has been color-coded to make your life easier - red means you don't have something you need, yellow means you're cutting it fine (in the case of skills) and green means you have filled the requirement.

We've even added a small box next to certain entries on the menu that link directly to UOGuide - click the link in the menu to be taken to the page with information. It's a simple help feature for your convenience. We may some day link this to our own Wiki instead of UOGuide, but it's good for now!



OK, the juicy bits;

Blank Runes

Blank Imbuing/Unravelling Runes are essential to crafting Imbuing/Unravelling Runes.
In order to craft a Blank Rune, you will need 1 Rough Stone.
To begin crafting Blank Runes, use a Scribe's Pen.


Imbuing Runes

Imbuing Runes are small stones that carry special property inscriptions that can be applied to a wide range of items; Spell-Books, Glasses, Talisman, Armor, Clothing, Jewellery, Ranged Weapons and Meleé Weapons.

Each Imbuing Rune carries a unique property that can be applied to an item.
To use an Imbuing Rune, simply double-click it and target the item you wish to imbue.
Using an Imbuing Rune is always successful and doesn't require any skill to apply them.
There is no chance of destroying your equipment when applying an Imbuing Rune.

To begin crafting Imbuing Runes, you can double-click a Soul Forge.
You will require at least 1 Blank Imbuing Rune for each Imbuing Rune you wish to craft, each craft requires different levels of different resources, depending on the intensity of your selection.

Imbuing Runes that show a 0 (zero) Imbue Rating may still be imbued (if available) but will not count towards the Rune Count or Equipment Rating on an item.

The ignored/zero-rated properties are;

  • Night Sight
  • Luck
  • Increased Karma Loss
  • Battle Lust
  • Blood Drinker
  • Lower Stat Req
  • Hit Fatigue
  • Hit Curse
  • Hit Mana Drain
  • Self Repair
  • Durability Bonus
  • MageArmor
  • Reactive Paralyze
  • Soul Charge


Unravelling Runes

For every Imbuing Rune craft group, there is an Unravelling Rune craft.
When you use an unravelling rune, the property on the item is wiped and you have a chance to recover up to 90% of each resource used to craft the imbuing rune for that property.
There is no chance to destroy your equipment when unravelling individual runes.

To begin crafting Unravelling Runes, you must use a Rune Chisel.
You will require at least 1 Blank Unravelling Rune for each Unravelling Rune you wish to craft.


Resource Recovery

It's possible to recover up to 90% of the resources used for a specific Imbuing Rune when using an Unravelling Rune on an item, but you can't unravel an entire item just yet.
The resources you recover are the same resources that would be used to make an Imbuing Rune for the property you are Unravelling.
You aren't always guaranteed to recover resources, but you will more often than not!


Limits / Caps

Specific pieces of items have certain limits for imbuing, as before, there is a cap on how many runes (slots) can be taken up by imbued properties.
There is also a cap on the maximum rating (total property weight) that specific items can have.

The current limits/caps are as follows:

  • Spell-Books: Rating: 800 - Runes: 6 - Max Imbues: 50
  • Glasses: Rating: 1,200 - Runes: 10 - Max Imbues: 50
  • Talisman: Rating: 1,000 - Runes: 8 - Max Imbues: 100
  • Shields: Rating: 1,000 - Runes: 8 - Max Imbues: 50
  • Armor: Rating: 1,800 - Runes: 15 - Max Imbues: 100
  • Clothing: Rating: 800 - Runes: 6 - Max Imbues: 20
  • Jewellery: Rating: 1,500 - Runes: 12 - Max Imbues: 50
  • Ranged Weapons: Rating: 1,500 - Runes: 12 - Max Imbues: 100
  • Meleé Weapons: Rating: 1,500 - Runes: 12 - Max Imbues: 100


Equipment Rating

Equipment Rating is the combined total of all of your equipped items' ratings and is displayed on the list under your character's name.
If someone has  a higher rating than you, the color of their rating will sway towards red, if they are below you, it sways towards green. -This should give a good indication of what you can do when faced with an unfriendly player, but don't rely on the rating, you might just be able to take out the guy who's double your size!


Foot-Notes

-All current Removal Runes (formerly crafted with Inscription via the Rune Chisel) will be wiped.
We have decided to wipe them because writing a conversion algorithm for each individual Removal Rune simply isn't worth the time and effort and extra delay to this patch.

-Slayers not currently available on Imbuing Runes, but will be added in later this week!

-For some reason, some Talisman are classes as clothing, we can't change this without wiping them, so we'll just leave it at that for now.
