General Discussion / Re: PVP'ing concerns.
February 17, 2012, 07:22:29 PM
Wow I somehow expected that comment......no offense Kon but that is probably not something you should just toss out there man. We all are dedicated players who have been here for quite a while and donate to help your server.  We are the people who have actively pvp'ed here for a year or more.  People are going to be upset and it is going to be posted on the forums as it should be.  I have tried the new casting just a bit and I agree with majority of the posts so far. As I haven't tested it extensively I am sure there are positive's and negative's as to any updates. So far I can say though I do not like the new casting as it is.....probably needs adjusted or some thought put into it and tested. Maybe it has but I dunno.  But to be nice and just toss out for us to find a different server if "we dont like it"  is probably not the best tactic just my opinion. Maybe the 15-20 people who actually pvp and yourself have a constructive talk about it....maybe we need to play it and see what happens then go from there I dunno.  I am sure it will get all worked out. If not the pvp playerbase may be a little less but who knows. Not trying to be offensive or mean just stating my thoughts.

Ya man that is understandable I would be curious too to be quite honest.  I don't want forum wars either our guild has been through this before, but ya I don't know what's going on either. I have personally never had a problem with fireball spams or poison spams neither seem to work real well other than the magical people who can land ever poison they cast lol. Well let me put it this way I can assure you had that I had ZERO input on this or anything to do with it because I am sure when I get off work to try it after bit I will be right on board with you guys on this subject.

Wow after reading your post wun that sounds like it sucks lol. I have never heard stonexx talk about a new patch now Im curious how he knew what was up as well.  Guess I miss too much when I am not on. I hope none of our guild had anything to do with these changes because it doesn't sound like pvp will be much fun :(

So I have just read the posts on the updates as well as your 2 posts. Let me start by saying this...I am not quite as active I as I have been, but I still remain pretty active fighting you guys as well as anyone else. I am not sure where you guys are getting the information that H2O has voted for any of these changes at all. I have never heard anyone talk in game about them or in vent. Now maybe someone has when I havn't been on so Im not 100% sure about that, but maybe we shouldn't jump to conclusions before just stating that our guild is for these changes or mentioned them. I personally havn't been on to test the new changes but to me personally I do not agree with them either. That's all I will say about the changes for now until I actually try them with the exception of the pot changes. I think that is silly to change the pot timers they have been messed with enough and 20 sec pretty much makes pots useless.

As to Luce...let's get one thing straight.  I can pretty well speak for my guild that we do not run and complain to Kon or anyone because we have lost in the field fights lately. Nothing needed changed to help us win nor would we want that! The reason we have lost lately is due to inactive players and being outnumbered which is neither here nor there we still fight it is fun and frustrating at the same time but that is part of pvping. You win some you lose some. With that being said if there are changes that are made dont automatically assume that our guild pushed for those changes to help make us win that is just absurd. These changes would ultimately hurt our guild worse than yours at the moment because we are fighting with less numbers.  So please don't just start bashing our guild over changes that we had nothing to do with. I am not happy about them either but I want to try them first.  :)

I vote YES! Guys I understand your thinking "gee if he wipes all resources how am I going to stock vendors and craft?'" But think about it for a second does anyone on here enjoy this freeze we all have for like 2-3 sec every couple of minutes? I know you don't! I have played here over a year now and I know there are tons of inactive accts with houses that have alot of resources just sitting around. They need wiped! Noone on here needs 100k or more of each ingot, of each board, of wool, of cloth, or fish. You just don't.  This clogs up the server and makes things run slower.

- The answer is also not to stop Afk scripting. For one there is really no way to manage this and the gms and kon prolly don't need to waste their entire days running around making sure all lumberjackers and miners are actually watching their accts. Not a feasable idea just leave that one alone.

-I do like the reward ideas but maybe that should be put in place after we do a cleanup to prevent this from happening in the future.

-Ive read others say blah blah blah if you do this it will just happen again in the future. Well in the year or more I have played here I have not seen this happen, so with that being said it would take a long time for this to buildup again and if the reward ideas get put in place sometime that should also help out the cause.

-Everyone can get resources again very very easily. Just go get them just like you have been doing. Not that big of deal really.

-Now for questions and suggestions part:
  1) Kon does resource boxes and commodity deeds affect the "in game" items that affect the clogging up of the server? If they don't no need to wipe the resources in the boxes. Lower the price alot on them to say 20 pcoins. Let everyone have them and that would reduce everything alot for ACTIVE players. Wouldn't hurt anyone to have these as they do not affect the economy or game play. Wipe out stuff for inactive accts. Not sure if it would be hard to seperate or not.

2)What actual resources are you wanting to wipe? This really makes a difference in opinions too. We need a definite list on what your thoughts are.

3)I really would like the changes on the idocs and limiting the number of houses and accounts. Also a wipe of inactive accts because Im sure there are a ton and they take up space.

4)If everyone is upset by a wipe maybe not a total wipe on items. Say if you have 700k iron ingots that you wont need, take them down to 1k. Still leaving people with some stuff and let them build more back up. That would allow them to still keep their vendors up and going but also taking the majority of stuff out freeing up the server.

Alright Sorry for the long post but I guess that I had alot to say. Hope this helps and I hope that you guys understand why it would be necessary to clean up alot and start fresh. Would also allow the newer players to catch up to the vets on resources. We all are Hoarders its a UO disease that we all have and probably always will LOL but sometimes it needs dealt with even though you think you cant part with those crazy amounts of crap that we all have. Thanks for reading!

I wouldnt go so far as to say that roughs are easy to get when they cost 450k gold a piece. Thats not easy for everyone to obtain unless you just have stockpiles of gold laying around. I would also like to know the other ways of getting them besides buying them or farming the bosses. But anyhow noone is saying Kon  just give us everything we want. I think it was just mentioned to look into because it the drops suck sometimes. I also killed navrey like 3 times and a few dread horns and got a total of 2 roughs. Now one could say sweet I got 2 roughs today and be pumped about it or one could say sweet jesus I spent my whole day killing this stuff and getting keys and only got 2 roughs when Im gonna need a whole hell of alot more.  Seeing how you finally get enough roughs to imbue just 1 piece of armor up then to just break it.  Back to square one.  I mean they shouldnt drop like mad because there are times when i get 2 roughs per boss and very rarely for me i will get more than that, but I think that all bosses should drop no less than 1 per kill so it at least makes it worth the 3 hours sometime it takes to get keys. Just my 2 cents.

General Discussion / Re: Help with Stealth
February 12, 2011, 09:25:56 AM
Just google razor macro for stealth and let it run...I think I gained 0-60 naked..then like 60-80 with leather on..then 80-gm with platemail on. You dont need to walk around it will hide you then stealth and repeat. That should solve your problem I never had any issues gaining in stealth. Hope that helps, if not pm me in game.

General Discussion / Re: Risk vs Reward...
August 02, 2010, 09:15:07 AM
Did any of you guys play before there was no tram?? I mean seriously it's always the same argument about the blue people not getting to do the things they want to in fel without the fear of being pked. That is why its FEL. Now I will admit that maybe the TOT drops being fel based might be aggravating but outside of that I don't see why there is such a big fight over this. You guys are basically saying let's take the fun away from people who like to pvp so noone has to worry about being killed. I think that sucks. Reds/blues or whoever have the same amount of risk that anyone does in fel. I see red characters in fel hunting monsters and trying to get loot just the same as blues. Both types of characters can be attacked during their hunt right? Both are risking insurance money or the loot you dont have time to insure right?  So what is the argument cuz I am lost. The stealthing situation isnt cool but it has been addressed and they are gonna work on it so let them have time to do that. I have been on this shard 2 months and I have played OSI a long time. I dont see them catering to pvp players at all really here. I think it's great that reds are allowed in town. I know there used to be a few downfalls by being red and not being in tram towns but jeez there are only 150 people on the shard. Why make reds just stay in fel with so few of people?

I personally think closing off a champ spawn so far into it is pointless. You know when you go to a champ spawn that you have that chance of being raided. That is part of it and that is part of the fight. Closing the champ spawn down would end the fighting for champ spawns and the fun. If your scared of being raided then you need to go at non peak times or go with several people who can hold off the raiding party. Fighting in the star room has it's moments but for the most part it's not that exciting. Why would you want something designed for pvp to be trammied out? Even if you dont like pvp you can still get champs done man. There are not a whole lot of Reds running around to come in and kill you at the end.
