Imbuing Questions

1. Does removing a property count towards Imbue Attempt Chance (max 20) ?

2. Does the Damage Increase from exceptional weapon count toward Imbue Weight ?
 - That is, if DI is not an added property, but exists solely due to being exceptional.

3a. Which propertise DO NOT count toward the Imbued Weight AND/OR Property Count?

3b. Are the success rates of those propertise effected by current Imbued Weight?
 - That is, should I add those before ones that do effect the weight for better chances?

4. Where are some of the Ingredients on Pandora?
 - [LINK] Stratics Imbue Ingredients [LINK]
 - I know Pandora differs in some of the ingredient sources. What is where?

5. What can I do to raise Imbue Success Rates? Or is this it?
 - Be a gargoyal.
 - higher imbuing (duh)
 - From Stratics: "The soul forge in the Royal City gives a slight success bonus, and the Queen's soul forge gives the highest success bonus."
 - - - (How does the portable soul forge compare?)



6. I'm totally new to Imbuing... How should I go about making x/x/x/x/x/x/x/x gear ?
 - Like, I want earrings with:
 - - Faster Cast
 - - Faster Cast Recovery
 - - HCI
 - - DCI
 - - Damage Increase
 - - Spell Damage Increase
 - - Strength
 - - Dex
 - - Int
 - - ???

Do I start with earrings I find that have 1/3 cast and start imbuing?
If it has 1/3 cast and 11 HCI, is it better to imbue over for 15% or remove THEN imbue?
Or do I start from a plain 1 FC peice? Or 8/8/8 stat peice...
I don't know. Help?

No.

- That is, if DI is not an added property, but exists solely due to being exceptional.

I have just tested this by comparing the forecasted results on the imbuing menu with 1 npc bought warfork and 1 exceptionally crafted, 40 di warfork.  i went through the motions as if adding FC to each fork.  for the npc-bought fork, fc1 would be the first property on the item and equate to a weight of 140.  for the gm-made fork, fc1 would be counted as the second property on the item and lead to a total weight of 180.  
So yes, it seems that the DI bonus from gm-made equipment is indeed counted as a property, and carries weight.


3a. Which properties DO NOT count toward the Imbued Weight AND/OR Property Count?
Resists and luck on armour don't count towards the property count, however resists (not certain about luck) certainly does still add weight.  according to the [motd dated 27.04.11. use best weapon skill, nightsight, mage weapon and +skill bonuses also do not count towards the ten property limit (but I would expect them to add weight, same as resists does).


3b. Are the success rates of those properties effected by current Imbued Weight?
- That is, should I add those before ones that do effect the weight for better chances?

Yes.  For example, I wanted to add some more resists to my fully imbued Keeo's Chainmail.  I only had something in the region of a 30% success chance.  I imbue in order of what uses up the most annoying to farm materials first.  Anything that requires relics gets done first.

http://www.aschulze.net/ultima/guide/te ... _abyss.htm    This guide is accurate, apart from void orbs & chaga mushrooms.  We don't have Void creatures atm, our void orbs instead come from slimey monsters called Korpres.  Chaga mushrooms are currently only available via a stone beside the royal forge; the stone's currency is pcoins.

Yes, 1. be gargoyle
2. 120 imbuing
3. stratics notes are not correct for this aspect of imbuing here.  the Royal forge provides a -5% success chance.  the queen's forge provides +5% success chance, but requires a lot of loyalty to the gargoyle queen to be able to use it.  The donator's portable soulforge provides a 10% success bonus.

I tend to use only exceptionally made items when imbuing, unless it's a particularly awesome item like keeo's chest.  (exceptional provides a success bonus vs non-exceptional items.)
So in the case of earrings, I just made some with my tinker, then started imbuing.  All the relic-using mods first - FC/FCR/HCI/DCI.  then i imbued the other mods based on how many of the different mats i had left.  if i had a lot of the materials, it could be done last with the lower success rate.

I'm not certain how to answer your question about the item with 11 hci, i wouldn't expect you to need to remove the hci so long as you imbue up to 15 hci next (ie don't do any other mod before hci).  you wouldn't be increasing the property count, just the weight.

You can't craft earrings or necklaces with mods on them.  You can, however, craft rings and bracelets with rare chances of coming with mods that wouldn't normally be found on jewellery, e.g. mr or ssi.  See http://www.uoguide.com/Tinkering in the box near the end, magic jewels (standard).  You will burn through 2k of a given gem type to see just 1 or 2 items with the rare property you wanted on them.  A tinkering talisman is immensely helpful with this.


2. Does "Blessed" count as a property?
No.


3. Which artifacts can / cannot be imbued, and which would you suggest imbuing?
- This includes such 'artifacts' as glasses and library, paragon drops, etc

You can't imbue any doom arti or tot or minor arti, atm.  There was some discussion a while ago about being able to imbue certain minor artis, but nothing's come of that as yet.  You also can't imbue the items that drop from the SA mini champs.  I've never had the neck from slasher, so I'm not sure if that's imbuable or not.

What you can imbue is anything from the museum/library/zoo (ie glasses & keeo tunics).  The armours from these community collections are way more popular than the weapons, primarily because the weapons lack the exceptional bonus (and therefore imbuing success bonus) and they don't have particularly desirable and/or max intensity mods.  You cannot imbue talismans.

Not sure about the earrings or other items from various newbie quests.  I have a vague memory of ely trying to imbue some such stuff once, might be worth dropping him a pm to find out the result.

all these can be imbued, yes.  crafted and sa, no.  at least none of the ones i've tested just now (including stitcher's mittens, animated legs of the insane tinker, spined bloodworm bracers) all give a message of 'you cannot enhance that'.  so i think it's safe to say you can't imbue any of these.  again, if anyone knows otherwise, do say.

The funky blue blessed earrings "transparent heart", i think that was there name, can be imbued. I had a lovlet pair with 6-7 mods but broke them on the next mod I added.

The only good thing about them is the blessed mod, but like Kro mentiond b4 with them being non exe the fail chances are higher,  so tis a bit of a double edged sword, least now you cant lose them if you fail.

To add to your list of items that can be imbued are the skill gain quest items from new haven nps.  none have any good mods but I think there all blessed so saves on spending 3k+ Pcoins on a item bless deed when your item is fully imbued up with 10+ props.
