Spell Channeling question

This may be a stupid question or i may just be forgetting something.
If a weapon or shield is spell channeling it shouldn't drop out of my hand when I cast ... correct ? At least thats the way I remember it. I have gotten 2 channeling shields today and they both dropped into my pack when i casted...

Under the More Options tab in Razor, remove the checkmark from "Auto unequip hands before casting"
