Use of [grab to find stealthers

Hi all,

I'm just raising my concerns over the use of [grab to find stealthers - its happened to me twice when Ive been artifact hunting in different dungeons.

PVPers come running through spamming [grab every 2 seconds and as soon as they hear a "hey!" they just cast reveal.

Seems broken to me - that and people are abusing it for something it was never designed to do.

Thoughts anyone?

[grab does have its use. I was helping another player last night find his boat, (he died on it) and we got ambushed by a bunch of Krakens, sea serpents, and water eles and due to the fact that their corpses covering my boat, we couldn't move, so I had to use [grab to get my boat moving. I do agree however, Pker's doing it to find other players is kind of foul.

I don't beleive that he was saying that he wanted the command removed Angel, I beleive he was stating that maybe the "Hey!" Audio shouldn't be included with the command if your close to another player.

Maybe if they are hidden, It should just allow you to still [grab corpses? That could fix some problems.

In my opinion, by no means should the command be removed, its saved lives, and made others lives easier, but i definitaly dont like being interupted in the middle of nice theft by a scream "Hey!", a reveal spell, and a knife to my throat. :/

I agree, the "Hey" Command is getting irritating, as i get tracked and they spam it, just sounds awe-full, and gives away alot of hard work getting near to the person. and then they stand looking at the corpse they just killed and click it and pick up a measly amount of gold, thus the sounds goes off and next thing i know.

BOOOM pkers everywhere after me, or the person gets quite a fright  and spams reveal and my cover is blown and i am forced to retreat or attack which i hate doing

Maybe keeping the command yet removing the audio for it would work nicely

I totally agree with this post that [grab should function to loot if a stealther is near, that way ya get the loot and the stalther is still safe, till I use tracking, hehe

Happened again today, someone trying to find me and just spamming a macro to [grab and then reveal

Surly [grab only sounds the "hey" if there is loot to be had and there is another person there?

I`ll go test this out now.


Nope total exploit, sounds "hey" without the loot, and theres me tracking every screen.

Has anyone put this on the bug stone? this is oviously a high piority bug.

As do i! The audio should be silenced, and it should still allow you to just pick up the corpse if there is someone stealthed next to you. If they're hidden, they obviously dont want the loot . (Well, the loot off the corpse anyway, Heheh :twisted: )


Summary:
So the command will still do its job by picking up 50% of the gold, but it wont say "HEY!" if someone is close to you, and it wont read the message "You are too close to another player to do that" If the person that is "Too close" is hidden.
