Post by: Miiga on July 23, 2010, 08:15:35 AM
Easyuo should really be illegal, it gives so much advantage and ruins economy because ppl farm money 24/7 with it.

I picked it up recently to help with BODs cause its getting out of hand. While banning it seems a good idea, it's not practical. First, people already have used it for months. Second, it's hard to track. Third, we don't have the staff hours to track and ban users.

Economy is already pretty ridiculous, with the gap between rich and poor approaching the levels of pre-revolution France.

Actually it is illegal to use easyuo to farm for wealth as posted on the pandorauo rules page.

Quotec. When performing the following activities, you must not be away from keyboard: killing spawn (regular or champions), gathering wealth while AFK.

As for not allowing easyuo for other activities such as bods or crafting or skill gaining is completely insane.  Luckily this shard does have accelerated skill gains on to help reduce some repetitive nature this game has.

That rule is so ambiguous as to be not effective. Everything you do in UO is gathering wealth. Mining is legal, but that's gathering wealth too, unless you plan on giving your ingots away. When I hand in my BODs I'm not getting paid in peanuts.

I agree completely.  A little clarification would be nice.

I use EasyUO mainly to help organize and keep track of BoDs as I prefer to be there and control the character when mining, lumberjacking or even fishing.  But still, it is pretty vague on what constitutes "farm for wealth".

Kalden and Konstantine both have said that "gaining wealth" is acquiring gold directly while AFK. Making a script to buy out ash and silk, making FS scrolls, and selling them while AFK is an example. Do that over night? You're making bank.

They just don't want gold to be farmed while afk.  Farming resources and selling it to players is not farming gold because they had to have gotten that gold from some other source of their own.

Hi, would a staff member be able to confirm that macroing for resources and then selling it isn't illegal? Thanks

it is, read rules,

in case of easyuo, it really helps in skills training, they don't make make Money maker scripts anymore, if someone write script that will do that, it is he's/hers choise and risk of doing that, but don't take away chance of little easier training for others.
