Title: It's been Along time sence i played UO.
Post by: Grimwar on February 16, 2013, 08:29:15 PM
Hi all,
It's been awhile, several years when last i was in UO.
Ultima IIV (The BlackGate) was my 1st game way back in the early 90's and then arround 98 i joined UO online. I played and loved the game up to about 05 ish i think.
My 1st love was taming and if i recall it was a real pain to gain in, and vet as a heal skill for pet's.

But i have forgotten almost every thing, lost in the winds of time.

As of now the patcher is stalled, so i'll have to re-start i guess, when did Bioware take over UO?

While i was starting the patcher and downloading i read that we get 3 by 75 skill balls to use when i get to log in.
Taming is a hard skill to raise, so i'll use 1 on that skill.
But what do i use the other 2 on?

Thanks
Grimwar

Welcome to Pandora!

I would highly recommend animal taming (like you mentioned) to be one of those skills. there is no skill cap, so you can train all your skills to gm or pass (unlike osi with a skill cap of 720 skill points). So the other 2 i would suggest, that were a bit of pain for me would be provocation and imbue. Most other skills you can set a macro in razor (which is completely legal on here) to train the others. But you can also chose chivalry (to avoid the cost of tithing, the required cost of using chivalry spells, to train up).

Hail Horns Nigel, That was a fast reply, i think i have "picked the right shard" well apart from those dangling eyes you have  ;D
Patcher is up to 65% atm so i'll PM you, if i figure out how to.

Hi Saturn,
I forget about Chivalry, that may be a good choice for me as i recall i had a char who i used to play alot.
I was never into provocation, just peace, i think area peace, so i could run past mobs. I just relised with no skill cap i can be a Tamer, Warrior Bard etc. How manny hot keys can i remember?
Getting lost allready lol.

Is UoAssist still arround, i remember i used that alot?

Thanks
Grimwar

you should get a 90 skill ball also..

since you tame i would suggest at 90

taming
provocation
discordance

75 skill ball

Lockpicking..i bought it..thats how bad it sucks to gm.
vet/healing..both still require you to do it to raise it..can be slow.
inscription..expensive and time consuming..every mage needs inscription.

Thats just me personally.  Those skills all suck in some way to raise or cant be easily afk macroed while you sleep.  U could plug in cartography with lockpicking and be able to do tmaps quickly.

Lockpicking gets terrible at about 95 if i remember.  Good Luck.

Can u have one character on this shard and function? Yes.  Is it easier to make a crafter and use those skill balls again..IMO YES!  Also although I HATE gargoyles they make good crafters..they get an inherent bonus with imbueing..causing lesser fails.  Plus you can pick a name you want to see on all GM gear you make.

Everything i make is crafted by Satan Herself.  Accept no imitations!
