My son and I have been disconnecting off and on since joining Pandora. I've noticed others having similar problems; some posted but mostly new players asking for help in game chat. A few people tried to help but every solution was either wrong or incomplete. In one conversation a veteran stating "you get use to it".
The intent of this post is to get true solutions into the field as we are surely losing players to this simple but elusive fix. IMHO we need to be able to help new player's in-game and not depending on them coming to the forums. Once they see how helpful you all are they'll be more likely to stay and join the forums.
Let's start with incorrect or partial solutions.
- As far as I can tell neither utility (Razor, UOA or UOS) is a cause or solution to discos.
- At best, running either utility as administrator only reduces the frequency of discos.
The following fixes Win7 discos and possibly Win8; if you know of other fixes post them so we can address all platforms. We use UOS but they should all be similar in the following:
- Right click your utility (Razor, UOA, UOS)> select properties> select compatibility.
- Check box 'Run this program in compatibility mode'
- Drop down menu select Win XP SP3
- Disable desktop composition (this was the main element for our solution)
- Check box or run manually as administrator.
So far neither my son nor I have had discos since doing the above. Hope this helps you and please get the info into the field.
Enjoy your game!

Did all that for razor, apart from the 4th step.. Forgot about it for UOSteam.. I can say i will still get lockups, but havnt tested it if its just v v rarely.. Did some stress tests and teleported around like crazy in luna, seems to be way smoother tho.. Good work ^^
I did several laps around Luna vendor-villa where I was crashing the most. Seems fixed on my end... fingers and toes crossed. ;D
Another possibility I found from my searches were buggy Gump discussions. I am not sure this is valid or not; my code experience is limited to web and flash.
I am trying it now, will let you know my results TY very much, I hope it works....Nigel
