My son and I took a break for the past few months and are now returning to play. In order to keep it fresh we want to try out some different aspects of the game we never paid much attention to before.
Specifically we would like to try our hand at hunting down stealable items in the world, but we have no idea how to identify one once we have found it. I think it might get very boring very fast to try to steal every item in every town hoping for luck. Is there any method to identifying items which might be stealable. Do they highlight when you cursor them, do you have to use stealing or can you just pick them up, do they show a name when you use all names, etc.
I am not asking for specific locations of items just help figuring out how to find them and take them.
there are stealables in several places. The easiest way to find them is run thru the dungeon and hit ctrl and shift at the same time and you will be able to see if an item is up or not.
The following dungeons have stealables that I steal
Doom
Fan Dancer Dojo
Yomitsu Mines ( I might have spelled that wrong)
The Underworld
Also there are some in the Abyss
There are also new stealables that Noll just placed in the game but there is a whole other thread about that.

So if an item shows its name when you hold ctrl shift it is stealable?
I am at work and cannot test it right now.
Many items can and will Highlight, but that dosnt mean they are all Stealable.
And most of the new stealables in Fel do not highlight.
You can go to UO Stratics, it will show you where most of the stealables and dailys spawn, it will also show spawn times, but dont pay any attention to that because our shard is on its own timer for most of them.
Be patient, it can get frustrating going to the same spot day after day and find nothing, but it will pay off after awhile.
