Title: wraith form in pvp
Post by: Jar Jar on August 25, 2010, 02:43:05 AM
Wraith form is great for pvm. works v well i have no problem with that :)
However can we limit the mana drain effect to just that, pvm? anyone in wraith form drains mana from every hit they do in pvp spell or melee. It totally cripples you in duels for a spell that needs only 20 skill..

Anyones thoughts differ?

It actually Drains your mana???

I was wondering why my mana would stay so low in some duels......

I figured I was just casting alot.

I second the idea, seems to be quite a cheap little trick

My theory on wraith and lich form are that if you can't mount up in a certain form then you shouldn't be able to enter a duel in that form.  I think wraith and lich forms are totally legit for pvp if they are casted after the duel has started.  Wraith form actually doesn't "drain" mana it is still a leech just the same that is on weapons.  The only thing that can drain mana is the mana drain ability found on only two artifacts in the game.

Wraith form seems to drain mana from every successful Strike.
Well i guess it is a percentage. For an explo/FS it Drains like 4-6 per spell
Fireball spam maybe 2-3 mana per hit

It's part of the game i guess, but seems kinda cheap in a duel.
Hope to get some more feedback and opinions

the formula is 2% leech per 10 points of spirit speak so 20% at gm and 24% at 120 so those numbers seem to be atleast close

AFAIK It was like this for as long as wraithform was around on OSI. I used it on Siege plenty for the same effect.
