I use to like talking on the world chat to the other players but lately it has just gotten out of hand. My daughter won't play the game in less me or her father is on because of the language that is used in the world chat and some of the things that people say. If it is possible to increase the rules and language banned on the world chat that would be great. :D
The reason I say this is because I believe if you someone said that I quote "I am going to gang bang you in every whole possible" is way out of line and should not be allowed. (Which happened today to another player. :shock: )Yes, there are old players but there are young players too and I don't believe we want to show them that it's okay to do this... :ugeek:
Well I heard about todays events in world chat myself and "darkhorse" exploiting world chat and "sickness" saying he was going to gang bang someone in every whole!
I will make sure sickness is banned because I have children that play also and if not I will gladly leave the shard but I am sure konstantine wil do the right thing.
As far as darkhorse goes he should be jailed or banned for exploiting a game and thinking its funny.
My opinion a shard has no time for foolishness or ignorance like this and the sooner they are gone the better a shard will be.
There are as many filters as possible to auto ban people from chat. You will always have something like this in a free rome world on the internet like UO - human nature.
But also know that when I see something like that, I will ban for a whole week. I am very ruthless when people try and cheat the filter like using the word "fck" to get by the real word.
Anytime you see something very inappropriate please screenshot it in journal - send to
[email protected] and I will take care of it.
But also keep in mind that you can shut world chat off by typing [mail then going into settings. Just leave the channel. Simple

Just a suggestion. But if someone is being vulgar, annoying you etc. And staff is not on to rectify the situation you can ignore them via the [c option. It will not block them when they are talking with in visual range but it will block their [c chat from coming through
Chat filter is lame we have an ignore through [c and a filter for bad words use them and all is well. As far as making it fun for even young gamers. My guild doesnt have little kids in it and the filters in place at this time are so strict i cant even talk in guild chat as say adult words or topics when we even are having a discussion. pretty lame that your kids make it to where i can get banned from chat. personally i wish i knew your kids in game name i would teach them the world and tell them how its not always pretty and candy cane care bear outside in the real world. Yet UO isnt the real world so take all the commi bs else where. chat nazis lawls the chat holocaust never happened.
it troublesome sometimes, when i tried to send message in trade channel that i want to buy "Robe of eclipse"(ML Artie) i got banned :(

lol no, general chat is mostly for helping newbies or free talk and just because few kids playing pandora or few ppl don't like cursing(they always can turn off chat for themselfs) we don't need to close chat.
Thats kinda my point, Just because theres like 4 underage kids playing on this server everyone has to be affected it seems silly to make everyone else move over because the golden children (who by the way are being raised in 2010) dont know curse words are bad. Or that by me saying i would like to drill the chat filter in its swollen ear i mean wow. I wouldnt have brought it up but it was brought up for me. There are already filters in place that should be left but making them even more craptastic is definitely not the way to go. Catering to a few which brings loss to many isnt kool. but my opinion and everyone has one ya know.
Anyone complaining is more the welcome to turn chat off or just use PM system
The system has been the same for 8 months for limited problems, it works

But just to explain myself; I only posted this because of quotes like that in my first post was the main reason for this issue. But as long as Kon has a handle on things I have no problem with it.
beyond what has already been suggested i.e. [c -> ignore or unchecking global chat when your children play, you also have a personal chat filter at your disposal under ingame options which allows you to add a variety of obseneties you wish to filter. I suggest you make use of that.
And to be fair, if your child knows 'gang bang' is an obscenity well,... then hearing it again isnt going to cause further damage lol, and if they dont, well... what they dont know wont hurt them :D
