So I noticed for the last few days when I use my dragon to fight Edyn everything goes as usual till he uses his area spell, the second he does if I take damage from it he aggroes on me and starts chasing me till the dragon hits him again. Then he goes back to fighting the dragon till the next are spell and the same thing happens. This never happened before but now it does every time, Im not sure what changed and if it was changed on purpose. Makes him much harder to kill considering how hard he hits and how often he uses poison... Pretty much if I go down, the dragon goes down and he can terminate people pretty quick. makes Edyn too much of a pain for the numbers of coins he drops.
Has anyone had the same experience? Is this a bug? Is it only me? Is it just Edyn or any area effect spell casting critter?
For 1 -- this would go in "bug" section but I do not believe it is a bug, I think it's just the AI of the Edyn
Have you tried provoking the 2 to fight each other when this happens?
Edyn's have always behaved this way, Cast AoE spell and sometimes change targets. Tough critter to kill.
I fought Edyn every day for over a week and he didnt change targets on me once, once the dragon had the aggro he kept it as long as I didnt hit Edyn with anything. Now he switches targets every time which is why I made this post. Before I only had to outheal the poison on the dragon to kill him, every time Edyn would use the area spell I would spirit speak and never stop healing the dragon, never had to move. It took time and once in a while the dragon would get pretty low but I didnt have to worry about getting hit myself. Now every once in a while Edyn combos me real quick, I go down, run to rez and by the time I get back the dragon is dead/almost dead. At least for me this didnt used happen I can tell you for sure...
Btw, like I said the trigger is that AoE spell, for some reason it causes the target switch. He only does it when I get hit by the spell. It goes like this: dragon and Edyn are fighting, Im healing the lizard, everything is good, AoE, Edyn is chasing me, dragon hits Edyn, aggro back on dragon. No time to provoke.

Yeah, just tried it again and its definitely not the same fight it used to be. Oh well..
It's entirely possible to keep the Edyn on the drag without using any method other than where you stand in relation to your dragon. Try tinkering with your positioning a little.
I need it to be easier.
I want to be able to one shot him. I can't one shot him. Is this a bug?
^^^ You obviously didnt read the whole post or didnt get what I was saying. It was never about him being hard to kill, it was about the big change in the way he was acting in battle. He never aggroed on me before even after using his AoE, now he does all the time. All I wanted to know was if this was a bug or a change of the ai on purpose and if anyone else noticed the difference. I guess its neither so I dont know what happened, maybe its my characters fame or karma causing it.
I can still kill Edyn, but the insurance cost and the much higher chance of me and the pet getting killed make the 8 coins hardly worth the trouble. If you still dont get why I made this post go try to fight him and see if this happens for you. Have fun being one shotted if it does.
