"Why not?" You may say. Because, there is a better way to get them to re-spawn for their wooly goodies. What could be better than killing sheep? How about multiplying your wool gain by 2X-10X or even more next time you come back! I mean yeah it's not as fun, but that is a big plus! :lol:

(All those "a" animals are sheep, and yeah, I had to bless to carry all that wool)
How do you do this? In 5 easy steps of course!
1)Tame the sheep you wish to sheer
2)Rename it to "a" (So you know what sheep haven't been spawned when you get back)
3)Sheer it
4)Release it
5)Repeat with other new sheep that haven't been tamed
You see, the game will re-spawn sheep in place of the one you tamed, just like if you killed it, however, this way the sheep lives to produce more wool, and the next time you are around you will gain twice, if not more as much wool for the trip. ;)
I like your idea but their are two problems with it. The first is that eventually the server unmakes all those a's. The second is that I don't believe people actually collect wool :p
I used to collect wool, until I took an arrow to the knee :D Sorry couldn't resist. Actually, I really did used to collect wool, and might start collecting again. What I would do was tame a bunch of them, and shear each one, shrinking each one (mind you this was back when there was a leash to shrink pets instead of potions. Gonna be kind of hard to do it.)
