Title: Favorite Towns
Post by: Horns Nigel on September 26, 2012, 12:33:21 PM
Thought it would be interesting to hear everyone's favorite towns in UO and why?

My fav is Minoc, The reason being is that is where I started this game, even named my first Char after the Mt Kendall, the mountain peak just outside of town.

As newbies we would go way north out of town to fight the swarms that seemed to gather there, also we always mined across the bridge as there was always a forge there.

Anyways, look forward to hearing your towns, and your stories....Nigel

Minoc for me as well. It was the first town I knew when I played UO when it came out. Had my first house in the woods just south of town. It was just convenient, you could mine, lumberjack, and find easy spawn within close range. My only complaint was that it was impossible to find good Chinese food in Minoc. Had to follow the road all the way to Britain to get decent sesame beef.

Moonglow for me.

My friend and i used to lure the escort NPC's into the woods, and promptly kill them.

500 gold and the occasional broadsword of Power was well worth a murder count :D

Vesper, My first house was there, and back before LRC, it was so much easier to get regs in Vesper than the over crowded Moonglow. The bank also wasnt as crowded but enough people to sell things and such. Way back when i first started playing, i lived farther up north where the internet was ridiculously crappy, so if i went to brit i would lag up so bad i'd be stuck there for hours. Also, my fav dungeon was neaby...I kinda liked all the bridges and rivers too, made it feel like Venice or something...

Yeah, also as newbies when we got more courage we would make the run between Minoc and vesper pasts the mines and over the bridges, great times as a newbie...Nigel

Nice one for my first post here :)

Has to be Moonglow for me.
Managed to snag a small house by the entrance to town on the old Europa shard back on release.  Made a bomb with that little shop :)
