So i've been thinking about a way that is fun yet easy for players to help the staff get rid of some of the waste of space houses that clog up the server. i've done this before on a different server so i know it's possible. you give every account one "fire starter" which when used sets any house into "greatly worn" status. this is fun for players to "set" fire to other people's houses as well as gives players who are actually online the opportunity to refresh their house and not have it destroyed. clears up some space and the staff doesn't have to do everything. just an idea
Wow, never heard of that...Nigel
good idea, but what about houses with venders? they dont collapse till the venders are outta gold.
Ya, I think SWG did something like that too. So much land was consumed by abandoned player cities there was no place for new players to build.

What if someone is on vacation and can't come online? Then he loses his house and all items inside it? Doesn't sound wise to me... Cos i know everyone doesn't have the time to come online everyday to refresh houses just because there are some pyromaniacs useing some matches ^^
How long does it take for a house to go into "Greatly Worn"?
It takes a very long time, let just say unless you are goingon an extended very long vacation there is no chance of it falling...Nigel
i definatley think this would be a good idea, but maybe just make it so that the house begins to decay, or make it so that if you dont refresh ANY house it will fall in a month?
Haaa IDOC hunterz =)
Well this shard had more people online before, they could come back this winter. So I don't know, might be nice for active players wanting to snag some easy stuff. Anyway since first/last house is ageless on an account maybe it wouldnt hurt that bad.
to go from greatly worn to completely falling takes quite a bit of time on this server for some reason. i do know however that an IDOC can take days (4-5) depending. As far as houses with vendors on them i remember a time that gm's on this server took off the vendors on a house cause it had "destruction pending" on it for like a month in luna so perhaps once a house gets like that you can page a gm. the reason i suggested the idea is because it saves most players on the shard from a "server wipe" as far as houses are concerned. lets face it, no one is going to look for a house in the middle of no where unless it's an awesome place to put a house, i.e. south of yew on that island in the lake, luna, in completely secluded areas that most people don't know about. this is just a way for people to get rid of the houses that they want to see get removed while not completely wiping all houses who haven't been used in quite some time. I've been on this server almost 3 years and i left for about a year, came back, all my houses except one was destroyed, tons and tons of rares and valuables gone and i'm still around. hell if anyone can remember this far back ( probably magg) i had a house in luna that had over 200x 1,000,000 check just sitting in it like a vault so if i can lose that much and still play i'm sure others can too.
LoL...
I remember that house La Mort. It took months for the vendors to run out of gold and for the place to fall. I also remember your house on the island. I camped that one and when it fell I made out very well. I did give back your shield.
Hahaha nice story. Ok then forget what I said.
(Btw Mort where are you from ?)
I remember when you showed me your house full of checks LaMort :) I also remember looking around and wondering where you kept the ATM that kept spitting out those checks...lol
Have to be carefull with this.. i cant remember where but i remember reading catagorically that donators can log off for a year without their house falling down. As a donator i would be extremely angry to come back to find that trust had been broken. Maybe the rules in luna should be for 6, 3 or even 1 month of inactivity from here on in but you cant pull houses down till the current batch of AWOL donators have ran out their time
The decay rate inside the Luna walls is much faster than anywhere else.
Is that true?..I didnt know that?...Nigel
Yes, it is true that the decay rate inside Luna walls is faster
