Hey, thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

Yeah at the moment I'm leveling any and all skill that seems usefull. Imbuing is definitely on the list :)

What is this red stone though? Didn't read or see anything about it anywhere.

Anyways, I paged Michael Helmsley a few times but we're never on at the same moment. But I already placed a house close to the NPA castle. Sooner or later I'll join, haha

So, basicly, I started playing last week. But I've waited to introduce myself until I was sure there is a chance I'm staying longer.

In the meantime I've been playing for almost 30 hours ingame time so, I guess I'm hooked (again), haha.

I've played UO on and off for the past 12 years. I stopped playing for long periods, sometimes more then 2 or 3 years, and the longest I've played without serious breaks was 3 years. So I'm a casual player, and this is precisely why I've joined PandoraUO.

I'm a married man with a fulltime, and time consuming, job and several other time consuming hobbies. Therefore I can't spend so much time training a character like I used to. But I don't want a fully trained character to begin with.

This is where Pandora's nice training balance comes in. Yes you still have to train, but even with less than 2 hours a week you can still get quite far in a short time.

That combined with a decent playerbase and a fully featured, up to date server won me over.

My previous shard was Neverlands. A Pol shard ( though they played around with RunUO a few times ) with a quite rigourous training system. Basicly getting to any GM skill took months for a casual gamer and weeks for even the most vigourous player. I have to admit that achieving a GM skill there was far more satisfying, but it's murder for casual gamers. Besides that the shard has been shut down and restarted several times. While they always continue with the files from the last incarnation it means restarting your char, new staff and an ever shrinking player base.
This time around I didn't even want to try the new incarnation so I looked around for alternatives.

Hence this post :)

Should the easy skill gaining here bore me at some point I might try the sister shard, but based on what I've seen so far for both shard, I'm staying for at least a while.

grtz,
