I would also like to add that if you run around and take a look at people's houses, you'll notice an abundance of trinkets locked down on their roofs - Virtue artifacts, Minor Illshennar Artifacts, along with misc. named artifacts, etc.

The majority of these items have become obsolete due to imbueing. Maybe you could add away to turn these items in for a worthwhile item, similar to the Tokuno artifacts, or turn them in, in exchange for pcoins or something more worthwhile :-) I'm sure that will encourage more people to ditch their collection of trinkets for something more worthwhile, while in turn lowering the global item count.

*EDIT*

IMO Don't delete resources - the Britain Library and Vesper Museum were intended to be resource sinks on OSI. Unfortunately, it's just a pain to donate here because they do not accept commodity deeds. It's just incredibly tedious donating small piles of ingots/boards at a time so the ingots just sit in my bank instead.

I also noticed a change that occurred with mining a few patches ago - smaller piles of ore became mine-able. Prior to do this, only the large piles of ore could be mined, thus, we now have 4 different variations of ore rather than 1. Maybe changing it back to how it used to be could help a bit?

Same with fishing, we just have way too many variations of fish with no properties that just end up sitting in our banks.

Maybe making resource boxes or portable garbage cans more easily attainable could help some of this out?

IMO the Resource "economy" will always be flawed simply because we are allowed to gather them while unattended, unless this can be policed (which is damn near impossible) trying to fix the "value" of resources will be futile.

As far as a "newbie" dungeon, I would suggest using one of the current trammel "Virtue" dungeons. They already. for the most part, have a good layout along with a chance to drop a Virtue artifact, which could be helpful to a new player.

Sounds great! I definitely cannot wait!

As far as prize ideas, IMO "elite" level gear such as Peerless/Hell artifacts are unnecessary. Maybe something "in-between," that are current upgrades to the "normal" artifacts/ToTs, but weaker than the elite level PvM artifacts.

How about imbue-able weapons and/or armor that work as a good "base" items for budding PvPers, that can also serve as end-game gear if fully imbued? IE something similar to Royal Leggings of Ember, Keonan's Chainmail, and Mace and Shield glasses? Offering the Ancient Samurai's Helm, for example, IMO would be a good addition :-)

How about a crimson cincture or tangle equivalent for gargoyles? Perhaps something a bit weaker since gargoyle's have an extra armor slot? I've noticed that gargoyles are able to wear  animal lore half aprons, but none of the other ones. Being unable to wear these pieces of clothing puts gargoyles at a disadvantage.

How about "PvP" style footwear (ie shoes, sandals, boots, etc) with more bonuses than "Mythical Detective" (+4 int) boots, but less than Oceanic Sandals?

"PvP" color dye for armor/weapon pieces or pets?

How about a PvP exclusive pet? Like a "pvp" hued Hiryu/lesser Hiryu that can be used for dismounting or bleeding in PvP, but are too weak for PvM?

Just throwing some ideas out there :-)

You can also try unraveling the items for some imbue materials!

General Discussion / Re: Non-PvP Hunting

Try farming P-Coin mobs, fighting certain Peerless bosses, farming imbue mats in Ter Mur, or mini champions in the Abyss. All very lucrative with incredibly high rewards and absolutely no risk of dying from a Player Killer.

With imbueing, artifacts are no longer necessary to create a great set of gear. Simply, grab yourself a few runic kits and some imbue mats and you should be good to go!

UO is a sandbox, it is what you make of it. If worse comes to worse, join a guild or an alliance that is willing to protect you if you dare venture into Felucca. :-) OR, you could always farm for gold in a safe area and purchase the items that you desire.

General Discussion / Latest patch - Gargoyle Nerf?
July 19, 2011, 04:36:07 PM
Hey all, I understand that a ton of hard work has been put into releasing the latest High Seas patch, but along with this patch have come several changes/bugs that have definitely nerfed or impeded the game play of Gargoyles. I am in no way trying to downplay the hard work of our staff, but rather I'd like to bring light to and perhaps get some feedback from other gargoyles as well as the staff regarding these latest changes.

With regards to Gargoyles, perhaps the biggest change is that we are no longer able to wear human style jewelry. It is already hard as it is to find worthwhile gargoyle gear, but this change severely limits the type of gear available to us. I've found myself having to re-imbue gargoyle style jewelry just to be competitive as my old jewelry is no longer wearable. In addition to this change, there is currently a bug that has changed the "Token of Holy Favor" to a "Gargish Bracelet" that is ironically, only wearable by humans/elves.

Next, there is another bug that has made gargish plate armor completely unrepairable. I believe it is only limited to this type of armor, making Beserkers Breastplates and all other plate style gargish armor unrepairable. I've found myself having to use Powders of Fortification in the meantime just so that I can use my current suit which is ALL Gargish Plate.

Finally, I believe that this has already been mentioned in another thread, but Gargoyles are unable to travel on water since we cannot ride sea horses. Perhaps the Sea Horse Quiver can be made so that we can fly over water when equipped?

Thank you!

*edit* One more addition - though I don't believe that this is a server/Pandora issue, but when flying, gargoyles are seen by Razor as "poisoned" thus making the mini-heal macro useless and making my bandage script go haywire :P
