Increasing rare wood drop chance or contained to veins.

I think that the rate at which the wood drops for rare woods is too low. It needs to either be increased and or contained to certain veins of wood as with mining. if not in veins it should have an increase by 1% or 2% for woods such as Yew maybe another Percent higher. and woods rarer than yew by .5% or 1% "bloodwood" and up. Please take this into consideration. I hate spending hours to find very little wood.

Veins are just like trees and that after they replenish their ore they change their ore type.  Its the new system put in place on UO to prevent people from finding all the frostwood trees that exist and specifically farming only those trees.

This is more Gizmo's area, but make sure your not posting this because getting "rare" wood is actually "rare".

We are not here to make things easier, were here to make it more fun & balanced.

I fully agree that things that are rare need to stay that way. Keeps the integrity of the purpose and idea of easier and harder to find types of items and resources.

I am all for rares but the wood seems to be on a completely different level than the ore. I have a good amount of ingots of all colors built up but the complete opposite of the wood. I have no idea how many 10's of thousands of boards i have harvested and i have received 22 bloodwood and 11 frost.  I have never gotten heartwood.

Not sure how the chance of success works in comparison to ore bit the upper three types of wood are a lot rarer than valerite.

I dont want things easier. just as you said. i want more fun but not something i spending WAY too much time on. so if anything the increase vaules i proposed would be nice. but nothing of a significant value. So it wouldn't be for the "easier" idea. Mess around with the values. anything above what it is now is "funner"

Just as he said it's not balanced. And as it should be with other crafting skills.

I am just going to post this.  The rare wood tree were introduced before trees would change their resources every time they were replenished.  So finding those rare trees was just as hard as it is now but you got to farm them constantly since they always re spawned as that.  Now you still have the same super rare chance of finding those trees but you do not get the same wood each time it refreshes meaning you have to hunt for more super rare trees just to get maybe 30-40 rare logs if that.

Thank you for explaining it again but I think we understand the concept.  When a tree respawns, the chance of it producing a rare wood can change.  This isn't a new concept as ore works the same way.  I mine one spot now, it may be dull copper, next time it respawns, it may be basic iron.  Same with a tree, normally it will be plain logs but occasionally it may be a yew or oak.  The problem is when you lumberjack and entire forest 15 times there may not be a single spawn of the top three logs but if you mine a mountain side 15 times, there is a much better chance you will be getting a hit of valorite or verite there.

The issue is the odds of getting one of the top three seem very different when comparing ore to wood.

So most likely. the chance of getting yew wood. 5% of all wood harvested. and lower on there? or is it set even differently on pandora? I dont want a huge increase. Actualy i want a small very small increase. something of a change. but nothing easy. i dont want everyone suddenly gathering all of this yew wood and the price of wood and fun of playing goes down. Small increase to where im just not farming all day like a pandora "slave" lawl =]
