Newcomers shard changing idea!

This is really just a personal preference, but i would like to see what others think about it.

I am a big fan of skill caps. It keeps diversity between players, and balances PvP. Even if it is a rather high cap, say 1000 or 900. Anyways, i am going to play whether it stays the same or it changes. I just wanted to see if there are any others that feel the same as i do about it.

Our whole base is No Skill Cap. There is to many new skills out in UO now, that 7xgm like it used to be doesn't even work, even OSI has relized that. Instead of people having to make a different character for pretty much each line of work, we do no skill cap. Makes game far more interesting and you are the first I've heard to be against it. Take into account for ex.

When I was a player, these are the skills I used in just 1 pvp fight most the time.

Magery
Bushido
Nijitsu
Tactics
Swords/Fenc/Macing
Anatomy
Healing
Chivalry
Hiding
Stealth
and more depending on the situation


Takes more talent to actually use all your skills. And there isn't a different between using one character to repair your weapon, or logging off, logging back in to repair it on another character.

Agreed 100%.  I wouldn't even consider a skillcapped shard after playing on one without.

Don't get me wrong, i can def see how it could be fun. I was just worried about PvP. I mean soon i will be able to have a mage with parry, magresist, necro, scribe, tactics, and DP. heh. not to mention chiv to remove curse, and ninja to wolf form out of trouble. although i guess that would be alot of macros to fit on a keyboard, i guess ill just have to wait and see

Aye give it time Grizz, you will see what I mean.

And the no skill cap, in my opinion inst really for fun, but I feel like it's the best way to balance the shard as crazy as that may sound.  :lol:

You got all the skills you need, just takes skill to pvp. (: Everyone is able to get every skill, maybe not throwing if your not gargoyle, or archery if you are gargoyle.
But besides the fact, no skill cap, I can pvp, pvm, treasure hunt, what ever i want, just staying on one toon. (:
