Should it patch this much?

Hey there.
I'm a first time Ultima player.
I'll save my introduction for later, I actually have a question:

I downloaded the client and changed the login.cfg file as instructed in the downloads section. No problems.
But when I launch your game, there's like... a million patches taking place.

Is this normal?

Yes that is usual .. Watch the patch level , I am not sure how it stands right now but there was an issue with the latest patch.
I quit patching at 7.0.8.2

I read it was suggested to stop at 7065... Mine quit on it's own at that lol
