PvP newbie/duel statloss

Got into some duels today it was great fun, It is a shame about the statloss. Wasn't sure what the deal was so I came searching on the forums. Found it posted in the bugs section. Anyway hope it gets fixed up.
I'm kinda new to all the Pvp so I hope I can get some pointers off everyone and have some fun along the way.
What does everyone have to say about Factions? I don't really know too much about the whole system. Is it only fighting in Felluca? or only in fel rules facets?

Welcome to factions art!  Its pretty quiet atm heh only seen a few around. you can get faction kills in all fel facets (ilshanear, malas, fel) im pretty sure but it only displays faction title in "felucca".

Only real bummer about factions is because there is no1 to kill atm, you cant get the rank needed to do stuff like run for leader and others. So hopefully more ppl will join soon

Think azar said they are working on the statloss.

Stat loss is a perfectly normal and very acceptable part of factions. It's designed so that battles can actually end when the losing side is unable to instantly rejoin the fray (because of stat loss). You're not supposed to be able to res and get revenge on someone right away. Factions are a strategic addition to UO, consider that as you submit your "bug reports."

You are suppose to be in stat loss on a faction for 5 - 10 min if another faction memeber kills you, thats how it is on OSI also.


As far as a little stat loss in the 1v1 duels -- working on it

Articus can you be more specific? Like what happens, what drops, and when. and is there anything that triggers it? (like right away or a little into it)

Well when the wall is up and the countdown is happening, I notice STR and Dex Drop down to 150, can't speak for Int because mine is nowhere near the cap.
Then afterwards the statloss hangs around untill you unequip reeqip your gear, that part of it not such a big worry, but losing all those statpoints and hps/stamina during the duel is a shame.
Someone please make it clearer if they have a take on it

It removes stat bonuses granted by gear, I believe. Just take it off/put it on again.

I think I know what causes the stats on items to drop when entering duels.  There is a system in place that removes all stat bonuses when you enter a duel.  If you bless yourself then try to duel the bless is taken off once you enter.  I think that same system thinks bonuses from items should not be on in the duel therefore they are taken off as you enter the duel.

that's a way around it, but i'd rather duel without bonuses than have to take my stuff off/on every duel...

It goes a bit deeper than that, but ya along those same lines.
