What I'm saying by 'merchant's guild' is basically what we're doing right now except with action put to it. Those wanting to involve in the shard's market could just pool together, and (x) amount of resources to someone we can trust to make the changes in an area -we- select to place our houses.

Ya, that means dues .. something that we can use between ourselves or to help a new guy out if he has potential contribute in the future to our plans .. Sound 'clickish'? Any guild will sound that way. They take care of themselves and their own interests. It's self-preservation and your heart is where your money's at anyway. If you contribute, your interested in that investment. And I'm not talking going broke with any dues either but just enough to keep things realistic.

There are lots of wide open spaces in the tram areas we could build in and we wouldn't need a lot of houses, either, to set up a lot of vendors. Heck, one castle could be its own mall and good enough, I think, to give most people who would want to participate one vendor to see how it goes.

to clarify, i meant real money spenders by "contributors" ... donators. can't edit my posting :/

the idea to share one house is very nice. now we would have to solve the technical side of this. you have to be some sort of co-owner of the place to put a vendor in the house, and if the owner decides he doesn't like your nose anymore, you can't do much. that's why i had the idea to transfer ownership to a GM, thus making the place atleast semi-official.

Gm's are people too and have the same temptations, right. I know I'm sounding like I'm bashing ideas today. lol I promise I'm not. I just like to play a 'devil's advocate' and get all the angles worked out on anything, even if I disagree with what I said myself.  :lol:  Just like to provoke myself to think too!

Just sayin', though, that players are able to do this. Why an informal guild? So the said guild can operate without fear of letting someone lazy or who's not staying in and leave vendors who aren't being stocked. That makes a mall look shoddy and no one will take it seriously. If they sell recall scrolls the vendor needs to have recalls .. ya, babysitting it if they have to. A vendor is a commitment, or should be, if you want people to come. People without a mall thrive just for that reason and won't need a merchant's guild.

while i disagree on the GM's temptations (lol), i agree on the responsibility bit. since someone has to start the thing to get it rolling, why not just ask around and find out who's interested in such a project?
you can then have the house owner as the executor, maybe a platform to communicate to maybe sort out bad (inactive) vendors - i think a simple forum would do. or atleast a simple thread for this in the trade forum.

now, who's interested in getting something like a mall to roll? we could then get some cash together, build something to start this, and plan further while placing vendors. i'm certainly interested.

I would be part if we can find someone responsible and has a good server standing. I don't mean not a PK'er, either. I mean even if that person is a PK but keeps their word and can commit.

i found that PKers are most of the time the people who you can trust the most. who wants their name ruined by a great scam? and using a name change token would cost them what they worked really hard for.

however, this makes us 2 so far.

I have purchased the largest plot available in the Magincia vendor mall area.  Only selling vendor spots at 10k a week which is very cheap.  PM me on deadmous to obtain a spot.
