Chivalry, Necromancy, Karma and you!

I would like to see the karma requirement of chivalry removed [currently -5000] The reason I think this, is it is a bit unfair for necromancy to have no positive karma limit, so why should chivalry? I find it a bit annoying that I can never become a dread lord because of this, without ground breaking effects. Thanks!

-5000 is actually a lot. It's supposed to be like -2000 or around there?

There are plus & minus for both. Like Necro has get regs, you can go for awhile on just 1k gold with Chiv...


I understand it's annoying. But many things are & arn't.

I was on osi atlantic shard 234 days ago before coming here, karma goes from -32,000 to +32,000 and chiv works all the way down to dread lord, never cuts out but gradually weakens as you go lower.
id like to see chiv work all the way down on pandora, if only coz the low karma names are sooo cool :-D
I have 120 necro but I never use it (except to change forms) coz my chiv is more important day to day. Lord oaks can be a problem though with all the blue name stuff my chiv cuts out at wave 3.. Of course I still monster through it, im just that awesome hehe.
I certainly dont mind the high karma loss, its interesting having to balance karma and be mindful and while with low karma my chiv will fail left, right and centre, and i know its my own fault for being bad, hehe, id like it to have a go, after all, isn't a paladin a warrior of god? and doesn't every sinner deserve a second chance? food for thought :]

Agreed about OSI, i was kind've confused why it had karma limits. Also kon, even without karma limits, chivalry will fail ALOT without good karma, just you can still recall with it and stuff. AND -5000 karma may seem alot, but believe me, just a few handfuls of necro spells, and you're -5000 again.

To my knowledge, the intensity of almost every Chiv spell is directly affected by your Karma. However, summon familiar is the only necro spell that is affected by negative karma. Chiv use karma much like necro would use spirit speak to boost its intensity... So, outside of the titles you get, its completely in your favor to always be positive karma. Which is pretty easy, considering most of the game is spent going around killing evil monster that give you positive karma.

Realistically, the only spell i mind losing is enemy of one. This spell is a game changer for boss and champ battles and even with low karma still lasts a good 3 minutes, you will have to cast 20 times to get it going but then you can settle down and get to business. duration for concecrate/divine etc goes down to just a couple of seconds so you will tend to ignore them by choice with low karma anyway, its the choice you make when balancing karma and is just a part of uo
