Skills question

I seem to remember reading somewhere that some skills could have a negative effect on other skills ?
Is that true? or can you GM all skills on one character to play?
Does anyone know which skills effect other skills? I also presume different character types, ie Mage, Paladin etc would usualy have a different stats setup(Str, Int and Dex)

Having Bushido means your parry skill is decreased dramatically when using a shield. With Bushido, you want a 2 handed weapon if at all possible, or a 1-handed weapon with no shield. That's pretty much it for skills affecting other skills negatively.

Oh-- And necromancry loweres Karma which makes chiv spells less effective.

The skills that may get your template to not work properly are Magery and Bushido.
Magery gets your chivalry fc/fcr to be capped at like 2/6 if magery is over 69,9(casting here is 4/8).
Bushido gets your defense chance with shields alot down while increasing your chances without a shield, like this:

at 100 parry/0 bushido/80 dex your defense chances are:
Chance of blocking with a shield: 30%
Chance of blocking with a 1-handed weapon: 17%
Chance of blocking with a 2-handed weapon: 17%

at 100 parry/100 bushido/80 dex your defense chances are:
Chance of blocking with a shield: 5%
Chance of blocking with a 1-handed weapon: 25%
Chance of blocking with a 2-handed weapon: 29%

Note that you can get better defense chances with 120 parry/120 bushido than you would without bushido.
Also dexterity below 80 will get you a penalty to defense chance (anything over 80 won't get any benefit to parrying).
