Hail, and a question or two

Hi there, I am Opaloka
So am considering playing this shard, well i pretty much have decided i just need to find the time

The thing is, last time i played UO Ilshenar was a new thing, and it seems there have been a lot of additions to the game since then, so many it is almost an entirely new game
So can someone recommend a website i can swat up on so i know at least a few things, from what ive read of this site so far it seems to assume we all have played the current UO and know how it works.
I will be checking out UO's site but if theres something else please advise me of it, thanks

Also i notice a few questions being asked on these boards and not getting answers, notably those who cannot connect, seems odd no one tries to help them or answer such questions...
Cant help wondering if this is a common trait of players and staff here, hope i am wrong

Hello Opaloka

Connecting to Pandora is pretty easy actually, and generally by the time we get to the post of the person who was having issues, we have already seen them in game

As far as new additions to the game, stratics is a pretty good place to brush up on most things.  There are also Pandora-specific things that you'll see once you get logged into Pandora.  We're a pretty friendly bunch and you can ask questions in global chat (using [c ) or maybe hook up with someone from the new players guild or a player volunteer, aka companion.

i see what you mean, i got up and running pretty easy, and while much has changed the basics are still similar enough
my skills are raising at a speed i could only dream of back in 1999
and yes i am already finding much info out, the pandora wiki is great, so thanks to all of you who contributed to that, its a must-read for newbies (imho)
will check stratics, cant believe i had forgotten stratics, as it was (and i guess is still) the #1 source for all things UO

now all i got to do is win the lotto so i can give up working and play games all the time

Lithium, are you... are you taking an aggressive stance on macroing in a newbie's introduction thread when the subject wasn't even brought up before you butted in? Is that what you're doing? Because to me, that's what it looks like.

Anyway Opaloka, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I'll try to add you to my friends list, if I figure out how to do that and if there even is such a thing. I'll play with you if you'd like, as I'm extremely rusty on the basics myself. It will be a beautiful adventure in newbishness and constantly getting lost with much fun to be had.

I just wanted to add, because i stupidly hadnt realised until i just checked back on this board, that i signed up to the board as Opaloka, the name i intended to use, but then went and named my toon Autumnstar
Was going to name it Opaloka Autumnstar then realised it wouldnt fit the 16 character limit for names.
So Autumnstar = Opaloka and vice versa
Bit late maybe, but better late than never, and now at least ive corrected the mistake
