i personally think that, more op weapons emphasize a players (targets) skill to defend themselves. :) as per the intention of implimenting any form of imbuing system in the first place (several months ago).

there is no 'return' once a system such as imbuing is implimented unless you revert back to before its existance lol.

also what i notice alot of is players making comparisons between pandora and how they 'think' the game should be played, typically based off how they played another shard or osi or something.

note; pandora is unique, it is not like any other shard and dosnt try to be.

if you have 'skill' adapt and embrace the uniqueness which makes pandora the shard we like to play. :)

I was not talking about what UO should be, I was more talking about what made UO great compared to other mmos. There is a reason so many people still love a decade old 2d mmo when so many others are out.
Osi has always had a balancing system, every artie they produced followed a formula, kind of "max intensity" thing. Imbuing was just a way for people to craft their own arties, instead of farming the particular item people now could farm ingredients and custom make their own. At the end of the day tho the finished product would have the same cap as the other "premade" high level items.
 Xeen, I can see the problem you were facing trying to fix this, god mode is addictive and folks didnt want to loose it so they made a bunch of noise, unfortunately as always people who scream the loudest have the most to loose and the large majority go unheard. And so a compromise was made, one that keeps everything pretty much the way it was, just makes it easier for others to "catch up".
 In the long run we are now looking at a shard full of spellcasting dexxer strength necro mages with 2s bandaids and high mana regen, more or less clones with little variation. PVP will come down to who has a better healing macro, you can already see it in the daily pvp. Hence the world of warcraft comment, it will look very similar to it.

As always, great work Xeen. It's obvious to me (and should be to everyone) that you put your heart & soul into making this the greatest private shard known to man!  As a programmer and web designer, I know the searing pain of the hell that is working with clients/customers/players. Your ability to stay cool during all of this is astounding!

I really think these new revisions will make for a great system and will hopefully stay that way after a week or two of live use.

Your hard work is greatly appreciated! I know I'll be sticking around on Pandora for a long time.
