you should get together with a guild and get a greater drag or something, usually a group goes into doom, or people with very powerful pets

5hours?! Thats determination! But, as a new player, you probably shouldn't be expecting much when you go to doom. The doom gauntlet offers some of the best gear on Pandora (you can check it out by going to the arti room, under pandora settlements). By no means should it be made easy. Some of the items you get there can be sold for 50$. So if it was made weaker and people can continuously chain the gauntlet, then the value of those items would rapidly drop.
If you really want to be doing it, join a party or guild that does it regularly. It will make it go much quicker.

I don't know why it's called Doom anyway should be called disappointment.  That's the way I feel after doing 50 rounds and coming up with nothing.  Saturn is right it should be hard but a trade off in drop rate for less hit points on the dark father may balance out.  Can we get a GM to review my lower the drop rate for less hp idea?

I know luck plays into effect IF an arti drops (not to who, but if it all), being in a party decreases your chances, but yeah...They are still hard to come by, but I still believe they should be...With that being said, i will also point out I very rarely ever go to doom because my patience is incredibly limited for this sort of thing. I'd rather donate for the item cause i hate doing the gauntlet 1000 times over.

We do review it... Doom is not going to fit every player. I watch people solo the dark father a lot with a great dragon & really know what they are doing.

A guild just demolishes DF.

make doom were a DF spawn for every 2 pepole in doom and the same with each room.

Unless you've tweaked drop rates, its 1-1000 for no DF in gauntlet, and 1-100 for dark father, so 200k hp is WAY high for those drop rates [in my opinion, its hard to really spend alot of time in doom, with those rates]

although i see your point, Doom has always been the place where team work is the best strategy. Making it pvp would just cause either guild/pvp dominance or one pvper with high ambitions to just become a pest.

Guild...Wars..two words..no reference to a crappy game.

it being a PvP area has nothing to do with people working together.   Solo champs with us nightly..never an issue.  Its just another safe place right now.

The thing with doom is some of the items are worth big bucks and its such a simple and farmable environment that drop rates need to be low. It takes 25-30 laps to get an arti and then there is always the chance that you will get lucky and get the 1 in 300 (or whatever it is) chance drop at anytime.
I know what johanna is saying about dissapointment, as i have never gotten anything i would keep but with so many arti's, all with human/garg/doom/war versions your chances are very slim and it is a bummer when you invest so much time and you get something rubbish, or even worse, doom rubbish.
id like to see doom arti's cease and only war from now on but im not asking for or expecting that, they are just booby prizes.
I disagree with making it fel though, its a place to band together to churn through as quickly as possible and i dont know how id feel if after spending a week rolling round and finally seeing that illusive new object in my pack only to have it taken from me the same moment. making the entrance dungeon fel might work ok, making the bone collecting a perilous endeavour, having to call friends to keep the pk at the ferryman at bay while you ring the bell, but not in the gauntlet.
Back to the OP.. 5 hours is hardcore hehe, sounds like you need someone to show you "the way" even with tamed pets it can be reasonably quick and painless. hp on most things are scaled up, it wont be long before your very powerful and you will love seeing those huge numbers tumble faster and faster
my tips... use disco, use honour, use pets, find a corner.
