Hmm - Figuring it out

Seems that the company (which is a very large one) that hosts are dedicated machine is under a cyber attack, which effects all servers they host.

There website is even down.

The shard is online, but the connection is being attacked, feels like a DDoS.

I'll keep you guys posted. I am sure they are on top of it and stopping it as we speak.

I'll touch base with them.

Following Twitter live, seems like there is a full blown DDoS attacked all over the place. Effecting a lot of people, including many people for XBOX

Hmm maybe this would be a good time to do a server reboot I heard there are a few people waiting on it to fix things and less then 10 people on last I saw. just a thought. =)

Yes we can reboot it if I am awake when the attacks stop.

But right not I cannot even access the server because of the attacks.

Once a year, shitloads of people/employes get their passwords reset due to their company needs their organisation safe against "hackers", and since noone changes their password in time (they all do get months warnings about setting a new one)

All these employes are trying to login to their former webpages etc etc over and over again, in failure due to password needs to be reset..

And thus creating once a year attack...

there are dos atks everyday on isp/hosts and most are out of china but as they gain access they will also use that ip kinda like the old Bot Nets so its really hard to kill it off, most companys have to block country IP blocks to stop them or change there IPS its a real pain in the arse.
