Is there any perspective / progress concerning the "new lands" where we're supposed to get some more crystals out of monsters? Just asking...

The crystal situation (and it's more about energy crystals than anything else) is really bad. I refuse to pay pbucks for imbuing materials and i think so does the majority of players.
Inverting consumes tons of other crystals (you also need) or relic fragments (you need). There are no vendors selling (energy) crystals. And if there are they are overpriced - understandable, cause especially energy crystals are extremely rare. You need them for all the casting / stamina stuff. You waste them in minutes.

And i am asking NOT for myself. But i am not able to help anyone anymore to get his imbues done.

I agree on the rareness of the crystals... It took me about 2-3weeks of gathering crystals at least 1hour per day... It wasn't enough to do even 10 imbues on a jewelry... I can't imagine myself spending hours and hours per day for weeks to get one piece done, and then add tiering on that also... This is only my opinion but yeah pretty extreme. Maybe higher the drop rate for crystals till the lands come and then put it on same drop rate as now or maybe even lower when the new lands come with higher drop rate? Just an idea...

I actually do not agree with this at all. Their are many ways to get crystals. Inverting and transmutation make it easy. Maybe your hunting the wrong things....

Again this is not towards you personally but rather then helping them by giving them crystals maybe help them by telling them what to kill.

If you feed a man a fish he eats for a  day but show him how to fish he eats the rest of his life.

Think outside the box. I have found ways to get crystals of each kind and  get my gear going pretty decent in the past few  weeks.

But the point is that you spend your mats on crystals and need to collect the same mats again while transmutatin and inverting. And well would be nice if you shared your ways to us in here lol as I sometimes get personally very frustrated after days of hunting blood eles/ Poseidons/ Ancient wyrms to get those energy crystals and get none... Then are days that i get 3 energy crystals in 1 day... And rest days i get 0... So please would be really appreciated. I'm just talking about my personal experience, dunno how it is for others but I find it pretty extreme and i'm comparing here gearing how it used to be and how it is now with crystals. I'm pretty sure everyone who knows the old system agrees with me that it was much less time consuming and faster to get geared than it is now or even fully imbue 1 item.

Come to think about it a very good friend of mine came back last night and we  were all having a guild discussion of what he needs to get geared up. Crystals were  NOT among the top things we told him to get us to gear him up.

I feel their are more then enough ways to get crystals besides hunting in tram. Every time I walk into a Fel dungeon for whatever reason I leave with a few earth crystals. Get your skills up and change earth to energy or fire. I do this very often, if I lose a few Oh well get more. Fully imbuing your stuff is the last thing in the game that takes time. Please don't make it easier.

You just proved my point Grim, you chain the  same 3 things looking for crystals.... Theirs WAY better ways to crystals chaining those specific mobs. I have told many of my ways to MY guildmates that I've known for along time. Telling my secrets to the public seems silly. I've been playing for a LONG time and  you just gotta figure out what works. I've yet to but crystals unless I felt lazy that day. Also the only reason I'm not selling them is because I'm helping others gear up.

And that's my point. I am playing here for more than 1000 days so i know how it works, thank you though.

Of course i KNOW where to get them, i KNOW how and what to invert and i tell others where to hunt for crystals.
It's not about imbuing a single property...

In the end it's this:

Back in the day when there were no crystals it was about Relics and Void Orbs being so rare. And A LOT of people have been - with right - complaining. And it has been changed. That's a fact.
BUT:
You need crystals for EVERY SINGLE PROPERTY and this is what makes it very different, compared to older days. Especially energy crystals are needed for TONS of properties - and not the unimportant ones by the way.

So don't worry. I don't need any secrets because there are no secrets.^^
What i want is a practical way to obtain crystals without losing my last nerve.

It's not supposed to be easy. It's supposed to be END GAME mechanics.

I am not talking about "easy". It is still easy. No challenge at all. Except for your butt, when you are hunting for hours easy monsters to maybe get what you need.

Ok, if i am wrong i can live with that. My own stuff is finished for a long time now. But don't expect me to help anyone with their stuff. I will just tell them where to go and come back empty handed.

My final point is that we really need new ways.

And no one should tell me that Imbuing is luxury. It simply is not. Everyone needs it. Need = no luxury.

I've never bitched about relics or void orbs. If you don't like the grind  buy them...

Hunting for hours without one? Sounds  like your hunting the  WRONG things. Easy as that.

Ofc it's EASY to kill earth eles and other eles... Liches and all those low mobs... But the time it takes! That's the thing here, you need to kill thousands and thousands of those... Ok it shouldn't be easy to get fully imbued, ofc, and to new players who don't get help i don't think it's so easy. But really i don't think there are any right or wrong mobs to kill to get crystals as i've noticed every single one of them drops crystals. But i personally don't enjoy it ofc as i've never been interested on PvM so why should i lol! But yeah anyways, it used to be collecting about 10mats for 1 property to imbue and that took about the same amount of time as getting 1 single crystal now and you need 3 of them for every single imbue. That what i think is the frustrating part and to spend tons of relics or tons of crystals to get crystals also makes the frustration and time consuming annoying. It's like void orbs were over a year ago, like so insane they cost 1.5mill each and this also reminds of the old old days when it took you over a year to collect money for a castle... (And that was over 10years ago but still ) Well maybe we just let Kon, Noll, Vor decide? And anyways i'm just excitedly waiting for the new lands to come.

UO is and should remain a time consuming game.  Crystals, runic kits, relics, stealables, etc. should require effort in order to acquire.  EVERYTHING can not have a high drop rate.

Imbuing is a key aspect of the game, but a perfect suit is very much what all characters are striving for.  I put weeks if not months into my old suit, it was much slower in the past when relics and void orbs were the choke point.  It is now possible to spend an hour out in the field and imbue at least one piece at a time completely.  While you may know how personally Tys, and even quoted Tyrone to profess it so, why not post this "common" knowledge yourself?

This is not a difficult shard to prosper on with some research and actual play.  It is not healthy for the game for everyone to run around with the most powerful items obtained virtually free.  Although some things must change over time and balance revisited, constantly making things easier is not always the solution.

It is not healthy for the game if one can log in with a new character and be able to compete with long time veterans. New characters should expect that it takes time to be on par with long time players.  It is also not healthy for the game for crystals to be so abundant that some giving soul invites newer players into their guild, gives them all the best gear outside doom (easily attainable) and then imbues it up for them.

If i boot up any MMO today from UO to WoW to Eve i have an understanding that i can't play with my level max buddies until i put some time in.  This should remain the same.  You can already afk almost every skill to 120.  There has to be a grind somewhere, and that grind should remain on the upper echelon of items.

Again there is different ways to get crystals then killin low end mobs for hours.  I don't see the point in doing that what so ever. Are you trying to make it so u can afk kill low end mobs and loot crystals all day? That's what it sounds like.

Also if your telling people how to get them and they are coming back empty handed I believe your telling them the wrong things

It should not take hours to get one crystal.

In my first post i was asking for the new lands etc etc. So actually i want harder monsters but better reward than what we get.

Its a discussion board.  Feel free to reply if someone makes another point..no reason to keep trying to lock yourself out of your own thread.

People do things for all manner of reasons, can't be mad at someone for pointing out the worst of possibilities. 

This is why balance changes and loot drops should be seriously thought through, instant gratification is not the answer.

Also when I came back and asked for advice you told me lich lords in doom. That's the last place I'd farm energy crystals because of the slow drop rate but I do appreciate the advice

I don't say you personally would afk kill mobs but if you made it easier you know for a fact someone would abuse it

Asking about new lands and saying crystals should drop more are two totally different discussions
