A few stupid questions (I appologize)

Is it possible disable chat? I've noticed that sometimes while hunting the banter down in the bottom left screen has hurt me more than it has helped me (i.e. I think I've gone into meditation, but the banter has popped the result out of view and the status-effect bar isn't very accurate.)

Also whats with the random reagents on the ground, when I see them they usually say something like "12 mandrake root" and I pick them. I only recieve 3 of them, is there some kind of skill for this?

Also I heard that there are some soul-stones on here, but they are no longer available... I was wondering if it is at-all possible to flush any skills on here? (i.e. disco/necro/etc. to fight the travesty)

The only thing I know about is the reagent harvesting. I believe to harvest the maximum it requires alchemy and camping.

About the chat if you go into your mail options [mail there is an option to disable chat was playing with it this morning but I'm at work on my iPhone right now so can't check it. It was pretty obvious though.
