Introduction

Pandora UO has many pets to behold, may they be cute and cuddly, or fierce and strong, there are pets for all types of players! This page is made to give players a good understanding about our pet system and what pets can be obtained through either the wilderness, the reward system, Pandora Coins, or Donation.

Animal Taming, Animal Lore and Veterinary

The basic 3 skills any tamer should have.

• Animal Taming - Ability Skill used to tame animals and monsters
• Animal Lore - Ability Skill used to view an animal/monsters stats and is needed to tame higher animals/monsters
• Veterinary - ''Passive Skill used for healing your pets, by means of bandaging.

All 3 skills together also count towards your total stable slot limit.

Stables

Each pet requires one stable slot, regardless of how many control slots they use. A typical (non-tamer) character has two available stable slots. Tamers, however, have a increased amount of stable slots based upon their combined taming abilities. The sum of the character's skills in Animal Taming, Veterinary, and Animal Lore determines the amount of additional stable slots according the following table:

• Below 160.0: 2 pets may be stabled.
• 160.1 - 199.9: 3 pets may be stabled.
• 200.0 - 239.9: 4 pets may be stabled.
• 240.0 and up: 5 pets may be stabled.

Additionally, "bonus" stabling slots are added for each of the three taming skills that reach 100.0, 110.0, and 120.0. These "bonus slots" are cumulative.

For example, a person that has all three skills at 80.0 would have 5 stable slots. A person that had 100.0 Animal Lore and Animal Taming and Veterinary at 70.0 would have a total of six stable slots (five for having 240.0+ skill and one bonus slot for having Animal Lore at 100.00) The maximum amount of stable slots any one character can have is fourteen. (Five slots for having 240.0+ taming skill, and nine bonus slots for the three skills at levels 100.0, 110.0, and 120.0)

Shrink potions

These magical potions can be used on your pet to shrink them to a size so small that they can be easaly carried around in your backpack! This is also used to sell them on your vendor.
Shrink potions can be bought near most banks for a price of 5000gp per 10 potions.
There are also 'Everlasting Shrink Potions' for sale for either 12750 Pandora Coins, or a Donation of 16 Dollar.

• Pet Greater Heal Potion - Greatly Heals your pet.
  • cost: 1 Pandora Coin
• Pet Greater Cure Potion - Cures your pet from poisoning.
  • cost: 1 Pandora Coin
• Pet Resurrection Potion - Resurrects your pet.
  • cost: 1 Pandora Coin
• Pet Bond Food - Instantly bonds your pet with you. (Skill check will be made)
  • cost: 350 Pandora Coins
• Portable Stable Stone - Stable your pets and take them out no matter where you are!
  • cost: 1300 Pandora Coins
• Everlasting Shrink Potion - Shrink potion that does not run out.
  • cost: 12750 Pandora Coins

Pets can also be dyes with Pandora Coins, ranging from Red to frost blue, white to black.. but at a cost. Pet dyes range from 3000 Pandora coins, upto a stunning 7000 Pandora coins for pure black.

Bake Kitsune

Rating: ***
Control level: 1
Advantages: Your First high level pet!; Can control 2 at a time doubling your potential Veterinary gains.
Disadvantages: They have no pack instincts; They cannot be ridden.
Notes:

• This is the entry level pet used for high level hunting.
• Two can be used at once by players with low levels of Animal Taming and Animal Lore skills. *Worth keeping at least one later on as they're slightly more powerful then a Nightmare (just not ridable).
• Great way for younger players to gain experience in hunting.
• Main use is to gain in Veterinary and Animal Lore through hunting.

Rune Beetle

Rating: ***
Control level: 2
Advantages: Lethal poison attack, Armor Corruption attack, Bleed Attack. Can be used with a Nightmare or Bake Kitsune.
Disadvantages: As a solo pet the Cu Sidhe is often a more reliable choice. Completely outclassed by the Greater Dragon.
Notes:

• Often used in Nightmare / Rune Beetle combo for high level monsters.
• Most tamers have this combo in their stable for certain monsters.
• If Armor Corruption triggers the target becomes more vulnerable to all attackers.

Dragon

Rating: **
Control level: 2
Advantages: Can be used in combination with Nightmare.
Disadvantages: Superceeded by the Greater Dragon and other high level pets.
Notes:

• Used to be one of the toughest pets in the game.
• Often a pet younger players will own before the top level pets.

Nightmare

Rating: ***
Control level: 3
Advantages: Can control 2 at a time doubling your potential Veterinary gains; Powerful in a Nightmare / Rune Beetle combo; Can be ridden.
Disadvantages: Weaker then a Bake Kitsune, requires a lot of skill considering it's lack of power.
Notes:

• Often used in Nightmare / Rune Beetle combo for high level monsters.
• Most tamers have this combo in their stable for certain monsters.
• Often next decent pet you will own after a Bake Kitsune.

Dread War Horse

Rating: ***
Control level: 7
Advantages: The only ridable three-slot that can fight and/or use Magery. Roughly as powerful as a Dragon.
Disadvantages: Requires loads of skill to control. Slightly less powerful then a Rune Beetle.
Notes:

• Considered more useful in PvP then anywhere else.
• No permanent spawn, considered rare.

Cu Sidhe

Rating: *****
Control level: 6
Advantages: Best ridable pet in the game; Heals itself and you; Bleed attack; Can solo a lot of high level monsters.
Disadvantages: Takes up too many control slots for a pet combo or taming. Less damage (but more reliable) than a Rune Beetle combo, completely outclassed by the Greater Dragon.
Notes:

• This is the standard ridable pet of all tamers.
• A must for any high level tamer.

Greater Dragon

Rating: ******
Control level: 7
Advantages: Toughest pet in the game; Can solo a lot of high level monsters; Powerful fire breath attack, bleed attack.
Disadvantages: Takes up 5 control slots so get ready to walk.
Notes:

• A must in every tamers stable.
• Can both give AND take more damage than any other pet or pet combo.

Donation Pets

Donation pets can be viewed by entering the Moongate > Pandorian Settlements > Donation House. They are mainly here for the people that really contribute and help keeping the shard alive. That's why their prices are so high. To purchase any of these pets visit the donation animal trainer located in the stable part of the house. Remember these require pandora bucks to purchase. • Damage - 30-42 base damage, 60/60/0/0/60
