Everyone on Pandora at some point will want and need a house. You can purchase a house from another player in game or as I prefer, place your own house. Houses are a secure place for you to keep your items, train most skills and you can even put vendors at a house to sell items to players. You can have a classic pre designed house or you can make your own custom house as most people prefer. Most classic houses can be converted into a plot where you can then design them yourself even.

Housing Basics

By double clicking the house sign you can open a menu giving you access to information about your house and many options.

The main screen gives you basic info. What character owns the house (on Pandora any character on that same account is treated as the house owner), There is also an option here to grant access to other players where they can enter your private house. Public houses can be entered by anyone but they can only access containers you give them access to. By default only co-owners can access your containers.

The security screen will allow you to change your house from private to public if you so desire and let you manage who has access to your house and items. You should never allow people you do not trust to have access to your items, that is your responsibility.

The storage tab tells you how many items you can have, vendors etc. The bigger the house the more storage. This is the smallest house and it allows 586 storage with the biggest, a castle, allowing 5625 storage due to the 20% storage increase on Pandora. This screen also tells you the number of vendors in your house and the maximum (12 in this case) you can have in the house.

The customize tab is where you can design your own house, rename your house and convert a classic house, like this one, to a standard plot so you can make your own design. Once you change to a custom house you can not simply go back without replacing the house.

The ownership tab is where you can trade the house security with another player, like all trades or demolish the house for a refund. This will leave all your items in the house on the ground unsecured, so it is best to relocate the items first. Trading the house will be just like trading normal items in a trade window. Both players will need to be right beside the house sign to do the trade.

Pandora has a command [myhouses you can use to access a list of your houses and some other info, along with a way to quickly get to your house for various reasons, like you loose it :)

Placing your own house

There is plenty of open land on Pandora waiting to be claimed for housing. But first you will need enough gold in your bank to place the house and a house placement tool. House placement prices are custom on Pandora. They start at 5,000 gold for a 7x7 plot and go all the way to 6 million gold for a castle. House placement tools are 25,000 gold on Pandora and have a custom icon which looks like a tiny house. You can buy them from an architect npc, located at most carpentry shops.

There are several rules to house placement. Here are the main ones:

House Placement Rules

• The house can NOT be in guard zone
• The house needs to be on flat land for the most part.
• The house needs 1 space been the house and any object you can not walk over
• The house needs 5 empty spaces north and south from other houses
• You can not place over roads, touch roads with the house or steps.

There are more rules but that is the basics. Of course there are exceptions to some of those rules.

• You can place over SOME things you can't walk over, but the house itself needs to cover it
• You can place over a SMALL hill usually but the entire hill needs to be covered by the house

With some of the basics in mind and your house placment tool and have enough gold in your bank box (not on your person) you can now place a house! Once you are at the area double click the house placement tool and you are presented with a menu

Classic houses are pre designed houses, they cost more up front, but you have all walls, doors, etc. Custom houses will be flat pads you can make your own design in. I selected Classic Houses, and you are given this menu.

Here you can see the cost to place each house type, their storage (before the 20% bonus on Pandora), etc. Select a house and you will see a ghosted image of the house you can move around

Once you click a spot on the ground if it is a valid location the house will turn solid and the server will ask if you are sure you wish to place here.

Just click okay and you will have your house!

Placing houses is pretty easy in open land, if you click one place and it doesnt work try just one step to the side and it might be valid. You can also target your own lifebar instead of the ground, which can be useful at times. If you are having trouble try moving to flat land away from towns and other houses and practice some. You can always demolish the house and get your money back once you get the hang of it.
